The Higher Education Amendments of 1998

The President recently signed legislation that amends the ADEA to exempt tenured faculty from the provision of the ADEA prohibiting mandatory retirement plans. The Amendments will permit colleges and universities to offer voluntary retirement packages based on age without violating the ADEA.
